One for the Girls !!

October is Breast Cancer awareness month and as today is the last day of the month I thought I would dedicate it to the great cause with this plaque which will be Auctioned here on eBay with 50% of the proceeds going to "Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity"
The image is from Whimsie Doodles its a Digi download and cost just $2.50 (£1.57) which is all donated to charity.
I have coloured the little lady with Copic markers, apart from being for a good cause I think you will agree she is a cute.
This plaque sends a message to all the girls out there who have been affected by this terrible illness and fits perfectly with this weeks theme at Cinema Saturday Challenge create something that inspires with an encouraging or uplifting sentiment!

Winter Wishes

I have had a busy day today with one thing and another and I have designed new headers for all my blogs and new badges for the DT members of my new challenge and one for the challenge winners and the Top 3 and the GDT and now its all done so I have 5 Min's to post the card I made this morning ....a card I hear you gasp !!! lol yes I do make the occasional one !!! lol

I have coloured the image with Copic markers and then ripped it to the size I required and used Tim Holtz distress inks around the edge and around the edge of the mat that I have made using my new Martha Stuart corner and boarder punch set.
I also stamped the mat with a HeroArts snowflake stamp , I added Christmas flowers from Prima and a fancy oval brad from MM, I mat and layered the HeroArts sentiment on a scalloped die cut from my shop.

Meet My New DT

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who took part in my search for a DT for my new challenge
"Susie's Sassy Challenge"
I was more than pleased with all the beautiful entries.
This has been a very hard decision to make I have deliberated all last night since I closed the DT call at midnight and all day today.......... the standard of all the entries was so good I wanted to choose them all but that's just not possible.
But the challenge for me to choose just one DT member proved impossible,
So I have ended up with a bigger team than I first anticipated .....
I have chosen not one ...not two , no not even three, but yes 4 new members to complete my new team.
So here they are in no particular order ........the 4 ladies are;
And of course the 2 ladies I already had before the DT call
Vikki & Tracy
Congratulations ladies and welcome to SSC
Now because I now have a full to bursting team of talented ladies
I don't think a challenge once a month is enough so I have decided to set the challenge every 2 weeks starting next Thursday 5th Nov and every 2 weeks from then on.
Starting off with a lovely big Challenge prize worth around £50 !!!
So pop back and join us for our first challenge next Thursday
And before I forget..... let me just tell you that starting from December the prize for the first challenge of each month will be a GDT spot for the second challenge of the month and the prize for the second challenge each month will be yummy crafty Stash!!! so please come and join in the fun with us

WOYDW.......New toys

On my desk today you can see I have had new toys delivered today !!! lol I treated myself to the new Sizzix Texture Boutique its a little embossing machine to use all the Sizzix, Cuttlebug and Quickutz embossing folders in, it saves me having to get up and walk across the room to put them through one of the Bigshot machines ....lazy I know but it looks so cute, shaped like a sweet little handbag and it takes up no space at all so I can just sit it on the corner of my desk unlike the great lumpy Bigshot.
Its made especially for embossing folders and does not die cut, but works really well , it only arrived this morning and I have already had a little play with it (as you can see) and I'm very impressed with the little fella.
Just beyond that you can see 2 punches , which were my only purchase from QVC's craft day last week (Wasn't I a good girl!! he he) and they are fantastic too, its a set of Martha Stuart punches which consists of a corner punch and a boarder punch which when used together they enable you to create an edge round the whole of the outside of your page or mat ......how fab is that !!? The piece of paper you can see I have had a go on was my first try and it was so easy and looks great don't you think ?
Well all that and the postman hasn't even been yet !! (coz they arrived by courier) so if anything else yummy arrives later with the postman I might be back with a WOYDW #2 post !! lol
But for now I must get on I have my Sister in-law and niece and nephew coming down from London for lunch and my nephew is going to be staying for a few days so lots to do, a busy day for me today.
But are you feeling brave today !!! ...........why don't you take a photo of your desk top and show us "whats on your desk" today,
Just post your photo of your desk on your blog and pop over to Julia's blog Stamping Ground blog and join in the fun of Whats on your desk Wednesday by leaving a comment on the WOYDW post there.
Come on girls let's have a rummage round your stash it's so much fun and you know you what too share your desk with us all !!! lol

My DT Call is now Closed

Well the bewitching hour is here and my DT Call is now closed I have had a look at all the entries and commented on them and now .....well tomorrow (Wednesday) I am going back round to take another look at them all and I have the hard task of Choosing a talented designer to join my new team.
The first new challenge will start here next Wednesday 4th of November so make sure you come back and join in the fun and enter for a chance to win a great prize

BoBunny Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge

Today I was in a hurry as I want to go and have lunch at the lovely Leonards restaurant where my 16 year old son is doing his work experience as a chef, its his last day he has been there for 2 weeks and has kept saying mum come in for lunch but with having a cold and one thing or another I haven't managed to get there so today is my last chance to surprise him and when Garry get home from work I am going to surprise him and tell him I am taking him out to treat him to a posh lunch.
But when I opened my emails this morning I read my BoBunny update email to find they have a challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness a charity close to my heart as my mother suffered from the dreaded illness 4 years ago and with surgery was lucky enough to survive.
So I wanted to make time in my busy day to stop and make a card to support the cause and to spread the word of awareness, to do this I did two things to my card firstly I distressed the edges of all the BoBunny papers to signify the distress, I am sure all women feel about firstly going for the tests for any type of Cancer and also the distress of waiting for results and finally receiving the results of the test, but more importantly I took the time to stitch as much on my card as I could to remind us of the old saying "A stitch in time saves nine" so don't worry about the distress take a test it could save your life.
A woman’s risk of breast cancer approximately doubles if she has a first-degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
About 20-30% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have a family history of breast cancer.
for more information visit the Breast Cancer site and remember a test in time could save your life.
To make this card I used the fabulous sketch over at this weeks Just Magnolia challenge and all my DP is from the BoBunny Smitten Collection to tie in with the "Think Pink" theme for the BoBunny challenge.
And at Kraftin Kimmies stamp challengethey want you to use buttons while at the Crafty Catz challenge this week they want to see Buttons and Brads on our creations and at Peachy keen stamps challenge it's Pink & Brown with a piece of ribbon, Stamped image and some glitter, which is the 3 glitter brads and on the chipboard but doesn't show up clearly in the photo ....but trust me its there !!! lol
The other things I used ;
Pretty Magnolia Tilda stamp coloured with promarkers
Flowers from Tabby craft
Brads Doodlebug Designs
Ribbon from MayArts
Heart Buttons I bought on eBay a while ago
And all the other bits and bobs are from my stash
Have a fab day , thank you for dropping by to look at my creation and read my thoughts

Give A Little Love

I have only made one project today ....as I was feeling a little better I went out this afternoon after being stuck in the warm for 4 days it was time for a breath of fresh air.
So this is it an Anniversary Wall hanger I used a chipboard wall hanger kit as always from my shop, I put the 3 flowers in a box and then sprayed them with spray adhesive and sprinkled them with glamour dust to give them a sparkle /Bling (which really doesn't show up so well in the photos) and the letters are all glittered chipboard as well. I die cuts some shimmering caramel card and run it through the new rose Cuttlebug embossing folder, I added a brass "Forever" charm with a couple of little brass brads and some caramel tulle to finish it off.
I have entered it into the following challenges
Craft challenge Anniversary
Tree House Challenge Embossing
If the shoe fits Challenge Bling ; Glitter
Stamping Vacation Challenge - Pick 3 challenge ; which are Gem (its in the chocolate heart), something metal looking is the brass "forever" and a colour that can be a food ; Caramel.
I hope you like it , Thanks for popping by to visit me , have a great evening
