Rosie Rag Doll Blues !!

Late again, I have had such a busy day today we (that's Garry and me) have been having a good craft sort out I have thrown away loads of old tat and I'm half way to being fully sorted' so by WOYDW this week I should have some nice neat photos to show .....but don't hold your breath !! lol.
I made this simple card with one of my new Hanglar stamps, isn't she just so cool (I think she might make some nice images for a Friday candy very soon ......we will have to see, hey talking of candy I will be back later to announce my 2 candy winners)
I coloured this stamp with Copic markers, I use 2 different coloured SU textured cards, the die cuts are from my shop Die cut Dreams , the flowers are Prima and the pearl brads are from the paper company studio , Island Lagoon.
I stitched round the edge with my sewing machine to add a finishing touch.

Happy Birthday Tilda

Evening all, I hope you have had a great weekend, I have been busy busy busy but I did have time to make one card this afternoon using this lovely cute Tilda stamp isn't she just so cute, I coloured her with Copic markers and roughly cut her out so I could sit her on the punched lace boarder I cut with an MS punch, the die cut hearts I had left over from a valentines project I made for Reid's girl friend.
The cake and the sentiment stamps are from SU, I also used my sewing machine to stitch the edges and some Tim Holtz distress ink to gently distress the edges of the hearts

Spring is in the air for Emma

At the ATS Challenge this week they want us to use newspaper or a book somewhere somehow in our creations ................well my sweet son Reid bought me a book for Christmas , a paper back novel "A Sovereign for a song" by Annie Wilkinson, now Annie may be a brilliant author and the book may be a great read but I don't much like love stories and I never have time to read as I'm always crafting, but not wanting to seem ungrateful or hurt Reid's feelings I popped it on the shelf with all intention of reading it one day.
Then today when I was looking for something to make this card for this challenge I remembered the book and checked with Reid if it was ok for me to use it to cut flowers he thought it was a great idea (he laughed at me ...but knows what a crafty wacky Mum I am !!)
So I die cut the flowers with a Sizzix die and used distress ink on the edges then spritz them with Glimmer mist scrunched them up , lightly unscrunched them and joined them together with a small pink Prima flower and a white glittered Doodlebug design brad and let them dry under the gentle heat from my desk lamp and I was very pleased with the result.
The stamps I used here are from CC Designs it's Emma which I masked to look like she is sitting on the tree stump both stamps are from the spring kit, I coloured them with Copic markers.
I distressed the edge of the image with Tim Holtz Distress ink and distressing tool then stitched them on my sewing machine , then I zig zag stitched the edge of the card without any cotton in the machine to give the edge a little detail

Potty About You !!!

Evening all I haven't forgotten my Friday candy but I have had such a busy day so I will be back with another post for that in a while.
But first I made this card with a digital download from Cards etc shop as soon as Jolanda the artist showed me this one it bought childhood memories rushing back to me of "Bill & Ben the flower pot men" I'm sure if you're over 40 you will remember them in "Watch with mother" at lunch time on TV in the late 60's early 70's no doubt in black & white.
Well I have given this little fella some colour with Copic markers and layered, embossed, stitched, torn and distressed the card & papers and added some flowers and gems to finish it off

WOYDW

I thought I would be tired last night after watching about 17 hours of QVC's craft day and crafting almost as many hours yesterday, but when I went up to bed at about 1pm last night I couldn't sleep and after tossing and turning (and scratching as my Eczema is bad in this cold weather as my skin is really dry) for about 5 hours I decided to get up at just after 6am and start crafting so I have had quite a nice morning although I feel shattered and plan an early night tonight, but I'm always saying that then I'm still up at well gone midnight.
I'm just sitting here now thinking I should really tidy my desk as I have been playing with a couple of Heidi Swapp stamps and some distress inks amongst other things, you can see I have made a pale blue gingham bunny for an Easter project and coloured a couple of Hanglar images and I have been playing with a new MS punch too and as usual I have put nothing away .....shall I tidy my desk ?? No instead I think I will go put the kettle on and have a nice strong cuppa coffee.
Oh my postman has just been and brought my new CC Designs stamps and some lush new MME papers from Tracy at Dies to die for .
You should go and have a peek at all the new yummy stock Tracy has and she is so helpful and goes out of her way to get the orders to her customers so quickly, Thanks Tracy.
Well I'm gonna do one of Julia's push back jobs on my desk now so I can use my new stash !! lol

Just a quick card this morning but I'm sure I will be back later with WOYDW and maybe another card , this card I made with die cuts, and inked the edges with TH distress inks the paper I am not sure where that came from it was just a scrap of leftovers and I distressed the edge with TH paper distressing tool , I punched the boarder with an MS punch and punched the SU sentiment with an SU punch, the flowers are Prima and the charm is from my shop Die cut Dreams

Sweet little darlings

I haven't made a card yet today as I was working on a project this morning but then the postman delivered my new stamps from The Greetings Farm and I had to ink them up and get colouring so I just had to show you ...........aren't they adorable ........really Sassy, I will be making these into cards over the next few days and if you like these images well be sure to be here for my Friday mini candy later this week !!! wink wink !! I'm such a teaser !!

Dance The Night Away !!

I was up late last night unfortunately not dancing the night away !! lol but watching the lovely Tim Holtz on QVC presenting the TSV.
I didn't buy the TSV its a book and some mini size products but they were products I already have so although it was excellent value I passed on that but I did manage to spend over £100 in the first hour !! shhhhhh, I was lucky to get all the new distress ink colours that sold out in about 3 minutes flat I also bought 2 different sets of Tim's yummy stamps, I can't wait for them all to arrive !!
Well its about time I used more of my new set of City girls from WoJ this is only the second one I have coloured , isn't she sassy coloured here with Tim Holtz distress inks and copic markers .
The beautiful swirly glitter chiffon ribbon was part of a RAK from my lovely DT Victoria (thank you sweetie) the pearls and brads are from my stash and the beautiful Paper is of course BasicGrey

Eggstra Special Easter Emma

Last week the lovely Paula from Paula's paper playground read This post of mine and said I made her laugh which made me happy to think I had brightened someones day , I always get a warm feeling if I make someone smile or laugh after all that what life is all about spreading a little happiness and when Paula gave me this award it made me happy too, thank you Paula.

I now have to pass this award on to another blogger so I choose Mandy at "A sprinkling of Glitter" who's blog always makes me smile and is a great read especially last week about the very rude impatient people that emailed you about the candy ... I wanted to scream "let them have it girl!!" lol well said Mandy, reading that post and a few others in blogland has made me re-think my own rules on how I give candy away, after all blogging /crafting is supposed to be fun not a smash and grab for candy, I have been to some blogs of people that have entered candy and all they have is a long list of candy no crafts or cards etc it seems like they make a career out of entering candies !! lol I love to give a little candy but its sights like this that have pushed me to say on my candy giveaways that I don't want my readers to advertise it on their blog ............shhh keep it a secret and let only regular readers find it, as a treat. On that word I will end my rant ...yes its over !!! lol and I will be back later with a card and to announce which of my lovely readers is the winner of this weeks mini candy .

Adorable Mother

Hi Hope your having a great weekend, we have been busy this weekend ....busy doing nothing much just chilling !! lol, but it has seemed to go quickly.
Anyway on to my card this elegant stamp is by Bravura (but don't go looking to buy it as I think its discontinued, if you know its not then please let me know as I can't find these beautiful Bravura stamps on sale anywhere, I remember they are made by a lady called Barbara) I coloured the image with Copic markers.
The DP is Anna Griffin, the ticket is Tim Holtz, the braid is BoBunny and the rub-on's are Prima
And the beautiful ivory roses were in my stash. I also used distressed inks from Tim Holtz.
This card is in Honour of my Adorable late grandmother, my mothers mother, you may have read on my blog before that I have never been good enough for my mum and she doesn't have anything to do with me but my grandmother .....well she was the most beautiful loving mother and grandmother to me and this week at the Design Dollies Challenge blog they ask us to make something in honour of a woman that made a great impression on our life so this is in memory of Emily....My grandmother

Jolly Holly !!

This week over at Susie & Vikki‘s Christmas Club the theme is "Holly" , I made this card using kraft card from SU and some thick red card that I distressed the edges of but NO designer paper instead I inked a cuttlebug embossing folder with old olive Stampin' up ink and ran it through the big shot machine with a cream die cuts shape so it embossed and printed at the same time ...neat effect don't you think !!?
The sentiment is also from SU the holly sprig is from BoBunny and the ribbon is American crafts, and all stitched together on my fab sewing machine.

Get well for Jane

Evening all !! the weekend starts here !! I made this card a week or so ago for my friend Jane who at the time was really quite poorly (I hope if your reading this Jane your feeling better now)The image I used is by "Paper Pretties" I think she is called "I don't do mornings" or something like that but she is a cutie don't you think and perfect for a girly get well card, I have coloured her of course with Copic markers and as always stitched round the edges.
The flowers are by are by imaginisce I chose to us this one as I thought it had a velvety feel bit like a dressing gown , sort of soft and comforting ...silly I know but that's how my mind works !! lol
The tag is a die cut nestie and the spots in the background are HeroArts conversation dots Stamp and although you probably can't see it they have a friends definition text on them, and the get well sentiment is just one I picked up in the paper mill shop. The Green textured card stock base card is DCWV.

Sweet Treat Mini Candy Friday

Well as you know over the last few weeks I have been rewarding my regular commenter's with a little weekend mini candy, this weeks Sweet Treat mini candy is Yummy, its a dozen stamped images from my new HeroArts giant Cupcake stamp (not the one I coloured in that's just to show you how darn yummy they look coloured in) the one's I have stamped for one lucky commenter have been stamped in mementos Black Tuxedo ink on concord card.
If you look at my post below you will see it used in a box project I made this morning for the chocolate orange Muffins that Woody and I made.
Not only will the winner get the dozen images but they will also get the pack of really pretty coloured 51 self adhesive heart theme gems in the photo, I thought they went quite well with this image as there is hearts on the cupcakes.
Right as usual this is what you have to do;

I'm fed up with doing candies and finding loads of people just showing their face for the goodies and then you never see them again until the next time you are giving something away so I want my candy to be different and to go to one of my lovely readers so...............PLEASE DO NOT advertise this candy on your blog if you do you will be removed from the draw, the point of this candy is to reward the lovely people who come here to my blog on a regular basis and leave lovely comments so if you have only popped over to enter the candy don't bother as you will NOT be entered, to be eligible to enter you need to have been here at least 3 times (3 different days) and left at least 3 comments (at least one comment each of the different days) between last Monday and when I do the draw Monday, I post between 1 and 3 times a day so it shouldn't be hard for you find something to comment on Just 3 times in a week!!! lol

Stamptacular Yummy Challenge

Morning all, Friday already, this morning the sun is shinning and its a lovely day, Woody and I have made some yummy chocolate cup cakes and I made this Cupcake box for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge as the theme this week is Sweet Treats !! but to make something more than a card.
I used one of my Sizzix box dies and my new Hero arts cupcake stamp its a lovely big stamp measuring a giant 9cm x 9cm and its totally yummy, I coloured it with Copic markers.
Ooooooooooooh I got to go now before Woody eats all the cakes !! lol

Hi everyone thanks for dropping by today

I made this card using a Magnolia Tilda stamp from last years summer collection its one of those stamps I bought it and only use it once but I really do love it , I have coloured it with promarkers for a change I don't use them much as I normally keep them in my beach bag coz I don't like to take my best pens to the beach in case the hot sun dries them up the Promarkers seem to be a bit more robust.

The paper is Making Memories and the flowers are a mixture of 3 different Prima flowers, the gems are Doodlebug Designs

The Button is from Imaginisce and the ribbon is from my stash.

I also used my sewing machine and Tim Holtz distress tool.
Thank you to everyone who gave me excellent tips about removing super glue from my craft mat yesterday so many suggestions my fav at the moment is "Buy a new one!!" I always go got the easy option in the end, but I'm pleased to tell you that my finger prints are returning after the super glue incident anyway, so Julia my life of crime you suggested never amounted to much although I did manage to be a little naughty with my credit card on-line yesterday while no one was looking I ordered another of the long Sizzix dies this time to make a post-it note holder and 4 packs of prima flowers and 2 Cupcake theme Hero art stamps from The Glitter pot and another deep edge MS punch and I also pre-ordered a set of the new nesties I can't remember the name but they are ovals with 2 sort of ornate scollop's at the top and bottom ......................so that's my only crime !! lol

WOYDW Dry Glue !!

Yes this is whats on my desk the result of my super glue accident, I tried to clean it off with nail polish remover but had no joy so if anyone has any tips for removing Super glue from a craft mat please leave me a comment

Well this is my desk today, a bit tidy I hear you say, but if I hadn't had my accident a few days ago ( read Here if you don't know what I'm on about but feel like a laugh !!lol) then I may not have had to tidy up.

I almost forgot it was Wednesday and time for WOYDW if I had remembered first thing this morning you would have caught me with an almost clear desk but after chatting about Sizzix box dies with a crafty buddy the other day I decided to get my dies out today and maybe have a go at making some boxes up as I bought all these big box dies a while ago and have hardly used them.

But i still I haven't had a chance to play yet today as Woody has been bored again so I have been crafting and sorting out things with him but he has gone off to play with Reid now so I am free to play with my toys !! he he so watch this space for a box of card later

Drama Drama.....Drama !!!

Wanna laugh ? read on...................... yesterday was a disaster, they say things happen in 3's and they also say if its gonna happen well then its gonna happen to Susie !!
Yesterday started like any other day in the Sugar house hold but little did I know how much chaos I was to cause in just one day !!!
First off I had a bath and slightly over filled it so once I had got in the water level was teetering at the very brim of the tub, I stayed still until a little had passed the over flow and I though I was safe, but made a fatal error in my judgement .............as my shoulders relaxed into the lovely warm water and I rolled over onto my front (doing what can only be described as my impression of Daryl Hannah's Madison the mermaid character from the movie Splash!!) I slipped and a huge wave of water engulfed my bathroom soaking the carpet and everything in sight, Luckily I wasn't hurt and not a drop of water seeped through the ceiling, double lucky as my craft desk, laptop and stash lives directly below.....phew!! close call , but I tell you that wave that flew from my bath was big I'm sure I even heard Steve McGarrett from Hawaii Five-o shout "book'em Danno" as people rushed for their surf boards !!! lol
After all that drama I played it safe and spent the afternoon entertaining Woody, late afternoon Woody got bored with my company and went off to watch TV so I though yes time on my own "Craft Time !!" so I went over to where I store all my lovely craft goodies dropped a pot of Prima flowers all over the floor I bent over from the waist to pick them all up and suddenly felt dizzy what happened next happened in slow motion (for me anyway) I lost my balance and felt myself falling forward in a bent over position, it was one of those moments like you see in the cartoons and I felt myself screaming "WOOOOOOoooooooo" by the time Garry came running in to see what had happen I was sitting in the middle of piles and piles of stash that I had pulled off the shelves on my way down, luckily again I hadn't hurt myself only my pride !! and a bit of squashed stash !! he he
After the events of the day I decided I would stay at my desk all evening and craft after all not much could happen there now could it .....................or could it !!?
I settled down to make a card for the Any one for Anya Challenge with this weeks sketch over at the Stamp with fun challenge I was almost finished ..... all the colouring was done all the layering, all the stitching finished, everything in place I just needed to add a button brad to the corner to complete the sketch, now the other day I had bought these lovely stitched blossom button brads by imaginisce they are beautiful and you only get 8 in a pack and they are not cheap so when one broke last night I thought I can't waste it I will have to fix it, the button part had only come apart from the metal 2 legged brad part so I though "I know super glue will fix that" .............
................. I found the super glue tube but the screw lid was glued tight and I couldn't open it, so what happened next was my third catastrophe of the day ................you may have all ready guessed what I did next ...or you're probably thinking "No she can't be that stupid" well if your thinking that your wrong coz I am !! yes I snipped the base of the super glue tube with my smallest pair of scissors , and that's when the slow motion scene snuck in again as I recall the super glue spurting out of the small cut in the tube as the little blades of the scissors nipped the metal tube it went all over my almost finished work of art , my scissors my A3 cutting mat not to mention my fleece I was wearing and ME !! I tried not to touch anything, with fear of sticking to it, but today I have no finger prints as the glue still covers my crispy little hands I told myself I was lucky it could have been worse as the glue had missed my eyes and face and my beloved life support machine (AKA my laptop !!).
So after clearing up what I could I decided to call it a night and said goodbye to what had been a disastrous day and when I got up this morning I decided to start this card over again, and although I ruined my A3 cutting mat I live to craft another day !! lol
